Sketch: Eco-Village Kukualile, Ghana

This village development-programm aims for better lifestyle and sustainable development in rural Ghana. Kukualile – a village along Ankobra River (Western Ghana) will be developed as an eco-village within Global Ecovillage Network (GEN). The projects refers to a teachers‘-workshop by Angelika and Ditmar Bachmann (Germany, Munich) in cooperation the GES (Ghana Education Service) and Ankobra Beach Ltd. ,where teachers had been trained how to implement education for sustainability in the curriculum and how to activate pupils. The teacher-training was part of a waste-management-programm that has been started in 2017 – by Ankobra Beach Ltd. ARTIC and Nzema Mine (contacts see below). The program now planned for this village involves all persons of the place: parents, other adults - especially the village administration and the chiefs. The village-people will be motivated to a responsible protection of their environment. Some touristic attractions will generate income for the sake of the village. This fossile-energy free model-village – is intended to be an example for other rural regions with poor income by training other teachers in order to be capable to multiply it. A crowd-funding campaign or financial support is necessary for a comprehensive support for the school and invest in renewable energies – especially a biogas-plant and roof-top solar-cells for electricity.  Donate 10 € per Brick – get your signiture on the brick and be part of the new built „visitor-area“ in Kukualile. Donators will be invited to two journeys (August 2019, August 2021) – so they can see progress of the project. Maybe there will be investment of young start ups to accelerate development of the village.

Where is the village?

Without Money - BUT with success!

As a member of the Ghanaian Eco-Village-Network (GEN) there will be support in different ways. The village-people could easily start without any money - only by demonstration traditional way of living or handcrafts to visitors.
