Social Tipping-Points

Soocial Tipping Points (as opposed to physical ones) are moments when small changes trigger major societal shifts. The project “Social Tipping Points” explores how targeted small actions can spark broader social transformation.

Costs

The prrogram helps adults explore new approaches to sustainability in local communities. The goal: discovering projects where small actions spark big changes – so-called social tipping points. These Learning Journeys inspire participants to start their own sustainable initiatives, such as climate-friendly events, CO₂ tracking, or storytelling. Participants experience how civic engagement can grow – and how diversity becomes a strength.

Sustainability

The focus is on sustainable transformation of communities from the ground up – bottom-up! The EU supports this project through Erasmus+ as it shares knowledge and methods that promote sustainable development. International exchange empowers local actors – also personally

Focus

The Learning Journeys focus on sustainable transformation – highlighting social tipping points and the power of storytelling. In Sweden, the theme is sustainable consumption, including workshops at a university conference in Lund. In northern Spain, the focus is on rural development and permaculture. In Sicily, we explore places revitalized through new uses – such as a monastery and a community kitchen in a “1-euro house.”

Story-Telling

How can success stories inspire people to support sustainability? How does storytelling become a tool for change? How can we include marginalized groups and promote equal opportunities? These questions are explored through the project – with a deliberately diverse group of participants.

Results

Participants learn how to spark sustainable change in their communities and use their strengths for greater impact. The journeys encourage new partnerships and networks, and inspire ideas for climate-friendly events and storytelling. Intercultural encounters promote inclusion, tolerance, and openness – foundations for a diverse and sustainable society.
