Green Excursions at Home — Local Impact Travel in Germany

Not everyone is ready to travel far — but you can still experience Impact Travel in your own region. Our German excursions offer a greener alternative: local destinations, meaningful encounters, and all using sustainable transport. Dates and costs are available upon request, and we coordinate closely with each excursion destination to tailor the experience. Each excursion is designed so that you can see through green glasses even close to home — combining learning, exploration, and local action.

Here are a few inspiring examples:

• Kleiderherz, Glonn
  A socially engaged second-hand project in Glonn selling donated clothing, with proceeds going to local charities. It’s more than a thrift shop — it’s a place for sustainable consumption, social cohesion, and community support. 

• Bellevue di Monaco, Munich
  A cultural and social hub in the heart of Munich, run as a cooperative. Its café is run by and with refugees, and it hosts events, art, dialogue, and integration projects. It’s a living example of civic space, social inclusion, and creative urban transformation.

• Greenlyte, Essen
  An innovative company in the Ruhr region working on direct air capture (DAC) — filtering CO₂ from ambient air while generating green hydrogen. Visiting Greenlyte offers insight into carbon removal, climate technology, and local ambition for climate action. 

• Alnatura Headquarters / Campus, Germany
  While the official Alnatura Campus is in Darmstadt, their approach to sustainable architecture, regional supply chains, and environmental standards makes them a model in the German organic/eco sector. 
  (Note: An “Alnatura Zentrale” in Dortmund was suggested — we'd check if there is a branch, center, or site visit option near Dortmund.)

These examples show how you can experience impact, innovation, and transformation close to home — no long flights, but rich encounters. Participants travel with green mobility (train, bus, bike, etc.), and every step is curated to spark reflection, learning, and local connection.
