Learning-Journey Paris: Urban Transformation, a Climate-Resilient City and Sustainable Speed by a female Mayor
How can a historic European capital reinvent itself for a climate-friendly future?
This learning journey explores Paris as a laboratory for sustainable urban transformation. Travelling sustainably by train, participants arrive in the heart of the city and experience how Paris is redesigning itself for people rather than cars. Guided visits and urban explorations reveal how climate action, urban design and civic initiatives come together to shape a climate-resilient city.
Why Paris?
Paris has become one of Europe’s most ambitious examples of urban climate policy. From the concept of the 15-minute city to greener streets, cycling infrastructure and new urban green spaces, the city demonstrates how large metropolitan areas can reduce emissions while improving quality of life. Through field visits, dialogue and reflection, we explore how local initiatives, urban design and civic engagement can trigger wider transformation – what we call social tipping points.
